Robbie Duschinsky is Senior Lecturer in Social Science for Social Work at Northumbria University. He has a PhD from Cambridge University.
His research has focused on children and families, the use of psychology in social policy and professional practice, and social and political theory.
Robbie has articles in print or forthcoming in a variety of peer-reviewed journals such as: The Journal of Social Policy, Sociology, Philosophy, Subjectivity, Telos, Textual Practice, Social Compass, Gender & Education, Critique of Anthropology, Journal of Nietzsche Studies, Journal for the Theory of Social Behaviour, and Historical Sociology.
He has won funding for research from a number of sources, including: the Economic and Social Sciences Research Council; The French Embassy to the UK; Northumberland Local Authority Children's Services; Durham Local Authority Children's Services; The Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities; The Trevelyan Historical Fund; and The British Sociological Association Theory Study Group.
'Foucault, the Family and Politics' (co-edited with Leon S. Rocha) is forthcoming later this year with Palgrave. It includes chapters by leading scholars, and an essay by Foucault and Farge never before seen in English translation.
