About
I lecture in Construction Economics/ Quantity Surveying in the School of the Built and Natural Environment at Northumbria University. I am also currently undertaking a doctoral research work examining the economics of environmental sustainability. Before joining the academia, I have worked for some years in the construction industry as a Finishing Foreman, Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor both in the UK and abroad on varied projects from building construction to civil engineering work. Besides working for a construction consultancy practice and a property developer at different points in my professional career, I was also recently involved in a multi-million pounds building and redevelopment project successfully completed by one of the UK largest contractors.
In 2009, I won a CIOB Certificate of Excellence Award for my profound academic achievements and most outstanding performance on the MSc Construction Management Course at Reading University. Presently, I am a Peer Review Board Member for Australasian Journal of Construction Economics and Building (AJCEB is a CIB Encouraged International Journal), and a nominated member of WABER (West African Built Environment Research) Peer Review Panel. I am also a joint organising member of QS related RICS CPD events in the School of the Built and Natural Environment at Northumbria University.
Professionally, I am an RICS Associate (AssocRICS), a Coporate Member of the CIOB and a Chartered Builder (MCIOB).
My main research interests are in Construction Economics, Project Management, International Construction, Sustainable Development Assessment and Low Carbon Construction.
